In the name of God, I intend to read the articles I have prepared for you over a series of sessions. At the beginning of each presentation, I will provide some explanations, and I may also offer supplementary explanations while reading the article. At the end of each session, we will also have a summary of the materials we presented. The first article I have prepared for you is titled "Difference between the states of listening and speaking".
Text of the Article
Difference between the states of listening and speaking: Every contingent being (Possible existence) is a link between shapeless space (abstract/content space) and shaped space (form space). This relationship has a minimum and a maximum. A contingent being is the expression of a possible ecstatic reception (Wajd). Ecstatic reception (Wajd) is a state of reception. The level of reception and perception determines the boundary between shapelessness and being shaped. Human, who is a contingent being, experiences ecstatic reception from the shapeless and has a representation in the shaped space.
The state of listening is the state of ecstatic reception (Wajd), the state of reception and perception; and the state of speaking is the state of expressing and manifesting perception. Concentration on the states of listening and speaking elevates them from a passive state to a degree of activity. In this state, the level of reception and perception is enhanced, and the human's shaped expression is transformed. Therefore, the state of listening is the state of inspiration, and the state of speaking is the state of prophecy and mission.
Explanation of the Article
If I want to introduce you to the space of discussion, I must say that all the things we see around us, from humans, rivers, mountains, and various phenomena, I present in this article as a contingent being. My purpose in choosing this term goes back to the specific meaning of this word. "Wujud" (existence/being) consists of three letters: Waw, Jeem, and Dal, and when we say "Wujud", it means perception. When we say "Wajada", it means "he found" or "he perceived". Therefore, wherever I use the word contingent being, whether in this article or in the subsequent articles, my emphasis is on the issue of the possibility of perception.
It is good to also look at the word "Imkan" (possibility); meaning possessing. You know that we use this word in different forms, such as "Tamkeen" (submitting/enabling), "Tamakkun" (empowerment/possessing), and "Imkan". Putting these together, when we say contingent being, it means we have this expectation and anticipation that a human can experience perception and have ecstatic reception (Wajd). I chose this article with the title "State of Listening and Speaking" for the reason of placing a set of initial definitions and fundamental concepts at your disposal, so that I can explain and complete the rest of the points in subsequent articles.
When we bring up the word "listening," we do not merely mean listening to something and the presence of sounds. In the materials I present, I use some words with a specific definition; for example, when I say the "state of listening," I would like you to pay attention to a collection of perception and reception. That is, seeing, touching, smelling, or any kind of state that brings about a perception within you should also be considered as part of this same topic. I have summarized these and metaphorically say that you are listening, meaning you are perceiving.
The "speaking" is also the same way. I do not mean uttering sounds that you speak; I mean in what form and in what way you present your perception. In the text of the article, by shapeless space (abstract/content space) I mean the space of the mind of any entity, and shaped space (form space) is the very space we confront every day (the material world and forms); the space in which we live and perceive. The minimum and maximum relationship means that humans can be classified between their mental space and their presentation space. Some individuals can very well present what they have perceived in the shaped space as well. The emphasis on minimum and maximum is an emphasis on this very issue.
Contingent being is the expression of a possible ecstatic reception. When we say contingent being, my emphasis is on the issue of ecstatic reception and reception. Ecstatic reception is a state of reception. The level of reception and perception determines the boundary between shapelessness and being shaped. The human who is a contingent being has ecstatic reception from the shapeless and has a representation in the shaped space. The state of listening is the state of ecstatic reception, the state of reception and perception. The state of speaking is the state of expressing and manifesting perception. Concentration on the state of listening and speaking elevates them from a passive state to a degree of activity. Here, another word enters: concentration, which we will work with heavily in the future. Meaning, if you pay attention to the matter of listening and speaking with care and out of concern, you actually attain levels of activity from a passive state; meaning you will progress both in perceiving materials and in presenting them. At the same time, the level of reception and perception is elevated, and human's shaped expression is transformed.
In the conclusion, it says the state of listening is the state of inspiration, and the state of speaking is the state of prophecy and mission. You see that in the final conclusion it points to the limiting states. It says if you work well and concentrate on your perception, you can even reach the highest degree of understanding, which is inspiration; and in presenting your material, you can also attain levels where you can present materials in a better format and recount what you have received in an effective way for others.
Summary
My concern in writing this article goes back to fundamental issues; to something I have been engaged with for years: the issue of being. The perception I have of my own being, and how I establish a connection in the shaped space around me. Perhaps these very concerns caused me to write this article and say that human is a link between two spaces: a shapeless space (abstract/content space), which is the mental space, and on the other hand, a shaped space (the physical and material world). It seems that we are mostly imprisoned in the shaped space and less frequently go toward the shapeless space to spend time establishing a connection there. Perhaps this article encourages us to spend more time on our reception; that is, to pay more attention to our mind, and thus achieve good results in establishing connections within that shaped space as well.
